Bison electric shaver is a steampunk inspired manly shaver with hard and soft lines. The body is made of 3d printed copper that is finished and polished by hand. The woven faux leather grip has gives the shaver a warm touch.

Routa was commissioned by the Campaign for Wool set in motion by HRH Prince Charles. The campaign for wool aimed to showcase this natural fibre and how it can be experienced in the 21st century.

Routa light interweaves two different materials creating a play between hard and soft complimenting each other.

A faucet inspired by bringing together Art Deco and Islamic architecture from Kashan, a city in Iran.

Nel rumore di vento caldo che tira, si sente l’odore di mancanza di acqua nel deserto. Kashan è una città che crede in potenza di questo elemento; l’acqua è tutta luce, è tutta purezza: dove c’è acqua, c’è vita. Le importanti moschee dell’epoca, da dove centralizzavano le città, venivano rinforzate con la presenza di acqua e le fontane per purificare l’atmosfera.

Il progetto prende vita da due elementi. Arco di moschea di Kashan e l’acqua. La morbidezza del metallo rappresentata con due curve che nascono insieme dal fonte e dopo un movimento semicircolare si uniscono a monte. L’armonia è in salire e poi scendere; l’acqua è la protagonista che completa il movimento.

Il metallo e l’acqua creano una forma simbolica preso dall mondo religioso e dalla architettura d’epoca di Kashan. La forma rappresenta la nostalgia di tempi che non ho vissuto; è la nostalgia di nostalgia.

Mato Drive is a continuation to the project Lisco I did a while ago and now it has finally come close to becoming a reality. I will hopefully be able to raise enough funds through Kickstarter to pay for the first production run.

Mato plays with the idea of being more than just a piece of electronics or a minified tool to carry out our daily tasks. I wanted the the drive to have some substance, occupy more space, both physically and emotionally. An object that would stick to you and you in return could stick to it and so it would hopefully not be forgotten as lightly and left to swim with the fish.

Minified and bony is simply no fun – curves and substance, something to hold on to, that’s more alluring. Cherish the fact of being, and be proud of the space you occupy.

For the skin I have chosen to use a special fabric developed by Danish knowhow and expertise. This durable yet stretchy non-woven upholstery fabric dresses and flows over the components in an almost organic manner. The fabric catches light in a way that is reminiscent of anodized metal creating an appealing contrast between the organic shapes and the metallic texture.

The story of the object changes as you shape the chair to best suit you. The autobiography, the identities reflected onto the object, is rewritten as a new story merges with the object starting a collective narration.

The chair is a snapshot of the designers life, capturing feelings and emotions of a given moment. This captured instance is left to transcend through time interacting, blending and merging with its users. At each interaction the chair assumes part of its user creating a composite object of part user and part designer.

Just like a mask has a baked-in expression or identity and when worn assumes a blend of both the identities, the one of its wearer and the captured expression.

With help of my professor Giulio Ceppi I got in contact with the curator of Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro. He kindly agreed that I exhibit among the Saporiti exhibition.

The photo shoot experiment at Fondazione Pomodoro was to show this relationship between the user and designer. How the narration of the chair will change through the interaction of each user, each added layer.

The user sits on the chair adding a new layer a new growth ring to the story of the chair. The story of the designer reflected in the chair continues through the interaction of the user, using the object to merge these multiple stories.

Each street has its rhythm, a sort of beat created by the dynamics of the people using it, the architectural elements, the light and dark areas. This rhythm is emphasized in tight urban streets, particularly in the historical parts of Italian cities, filled with character created through generations of reinventing the space.

In this collaboration together with Matteo Pastorio we worked to illustrate this rhythm. We started out from a small, hidden street in the centre of Milan, Via Bagnera, and designed a led-light system which is able to transmit and increase the value of the “beat”.

Kantele as an instrument plays a significant role in finnish mythology. It is a small 5-stringed harp most famously known from the national epos Kalevala. Runelord Väinämöinen used to play this instrument and tantalized both friend and foe with the soft melodies. Through the distraction provided by the music Väinämöinen was able to strike and defeat his enemies. I wanted to incorporate this dualistic nature of Väinämöinen into the product, being a runelord and warrior both at the same time.

Like in 3d images or films where you overlay two flat images to create a stereographic image I took Väinämöinen’s two personalities and represented him as a runelord with layers of flowing curves and the warrior part of him through sharp spears.

Looking at this vase from the front and at 90 degrees will create the illusion of a two seperate flat objects. Looking at it from any other angle will create a morphed blend of the two dimensional shapes.
